{image-videocon logo1_05042008.jpg news.oneindia.in}New Delhi, Apr 5: Consumer durables major Videocon Industries today said its telecom arm Datacom Solutions is ready to roll out its GSM services across the country once the spectrum of 4.4-4.6 MHz is allocated. ''As soon as we get radio-frequency, we will start our operations in all the 22 circles of the country,'' Videocon Industries Chairman and Managing Director V N Dhoot said.

Recently, Datacom Solutions has been awarded Universal Access Service Licence (UASL) that permits commencing telecom operations in all the 22 circles. The group has a chain of 900 retail showrooms called NEXT which sells mobile phones and other electronic goods.

Mr Dhoot had earlier said, ''We don't think the spectrum allocation would be delayed as start-up spectrum is available in many circles. Moreover, spectrum is also lying unused that will be offered to new entrants.'' Moreover, we have all the necessary infrastructure ready and are just waiting for a green signal to kickstart our services, Mr Dhoot added.

Videocon Industries is also making an initial investment of Rs 6,000 crore to kick-start the GSM services across all the circles in the country, he said, adding that the investment would be made immediately.

Mr Dhoot also said that the company will look at increasing capital expenditure depending on growth.
