Woman shoots son, kills self in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb 13: A 27-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide after shooting her two-and-a-half year old son in Shalimar Bagh area of north-west Delhi this afternoon.

Simran, whose husband Gurvinder Singh Walia is into construction business, first shot at her son before shooting herself at her residence in the afternoon, said a senior police official.

She later succumbed to her injuries but her son was battling for life in nearby Saroj Hospital.

In her suicide note, Simran said as she did not want to live she was ending her life and since there was nobody to look after her baby she was killing him.

Doctors at the hospital said the condition of the baby was critical.

An SDM inquiry has been ordered and her parents, residing in Barnala, have been informed.

Daugther-in-law of an SGPC leader, Simran got married in 2003.
