2 tribals killed in police firing in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Feb 13: Two people were killed and three others injured when police fired several rounds at an attacking tribal mob near Vijaynagar town in Banaskantha district today.

According to the police, the tribals attacked the Vijaynagar police station to protest against the detention of a few tribal women who were found allegedly felling trees and collecting wood illegally.

Following the attack, the police opened fire in which two people were killed and three injured. The injured have been admitted to the Civil Hospital at Ahmedabad.
