Bangalore, Feb 7: Delayed mid-term elections to Kanataka Assembly in no way will affect the chances of Congress regain power in Karnataka Former KPCC President Allam Veerabhadrappa said today.

"If the assembly election is held in November or even later, to take up delimitation of segments it will not affect us. Instead this will work to our benefit," he said.

Speaking to the press he said if delimitation process was brought about, it would help deprived sections of the society like SC, ST to get more representation. If BJP continued to pressurise for holding of elections in May itself it may cause a negative impact on the saffron party, he felt.

"Elections should held in November in the interest of Dalits so that they get the social justice in the electoral process and this is the opinion of Congress leaders," he said.

To a question on former Prime Minister and JD(S) national President H D Devegowda's statement of releasing his party's manifesto only after the release by Congress, he said, "Mr Gowda is bereft of ideas and has no commitment to the people and their issues."
