Boy freed from clutches of his kidnappers

Gwalior, Feb 6: A nine-year-old boy was today rescused from the clutches of his kidnappers and five people arrested in this connection, police said today.

''An accused was arrested on the basis of information received by police and raids conducted at suspected places during which Utkarsh was freed from the house of Raghuveer Jatav in Fusawani village,'' Inspector General of Police (Gwalior Range) D S Sengar told reporters.

Besides Raghuveer, Vicky Rathore, Veersingh Jatav, Rajendra Jatav and Maniram Jatav were arrested. An Indica car, which was used for kidnapping the victim, two motorcycles, two countrymade guns and cartridges were seized from them.

Mr Sengar said head constable Ramveer played an important role in gathering information. He also praised Additional Superintendent of Police Atul Singh's role in the operation.

Utkarsh, a cement businessman's son, was abducted while he was playing outside his home on the evening of January 29. Raghuveer and Rajendra knew the cement businessman from before.
