Death of birds due to starvation: TN Govt

The
Tamil
Nadu
Government
today
denied
death
of
birds
in
Devedanampatti
and
Bodinayakanoor
in
Theni
District
was
due
to
Bird
Flu.
Quoting press reports, an official press release tonight said results of detailed tests and post-mortem reports showed the birds died due to starvation and non-supply of poultry feed from the parent organisation.
The farms have been warned for not informing the authorities and improper disposal of carcass. FIRs have also been registered against them.
The release said not a single instance of Bird Flu has been detected so far in Tamil Nadu and it was safe to eat poultry and poultry products.
It also denied reports of Tamil Nadu importing poultry and poultry products from West Bengal.
