The court began dictating its judgement on December seven, immediately after conclusion of arguments on the evidence produced by defence advocate H H Ponda. Mahajan who was allegedly shot at by his younger brother Pravin on April 22 last year. He sucummbed to the injuries on May three at P D Hinduja Hospital here. Prosecution has examined 32 witnesses, while defence has examined three witnesses including computer experts and the accused's wife Sarangi. While dictating the judgement, the court had discarded most of the arguments of the defence lawyer.
However, Special Public Prosecutor Nitin Pradhan, who demanded capital punishment for Pravin, contended that the accused had accepted that he was present at the site of the incident and the bullets were fired from his licensed revolver.
Immediately after the incident, Pravin had surrendered before the police.
