Agartala, Dec 13: Ruling CPI(M) in Tripura today alleged that the opposition Congress and tribal Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura (INPT) were trying to mobilise the militant outfits in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

The party also stated that the Oppostion was also in contact with the National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT) and other non-tribal insurgent groups to destabilise the administration.

After a two day state committee meeting of the party, the CPI(M) leaders stated that they had reviewed the political situation of the state and discussed the party strategy for the elections in February next.

They also claimed the party was confident to retain the power for sixth time in the state.

Altogether 545 Congress and INPT supporters have joined CPI(M) in last two months, they informed.
