Hyd blast: Woman held for sheltering prime suspect
Hyderabad, Nov 9: The city police have arrested a Bangladeshi woman for harbouring the prime suspect in the May 18 Mecca Masjid blast here, which claimed nine lives.
Talking to the sources here over phone, Charminar Assistant Commissioner of Police Reddanna said special police teams have arrested Wazia Sultana late last night for providing shelter to prime suspect Mirza Ur Rahman, a Bangladeshi and member of the Harkat ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI).
Based on the information provided by Mirza, arrested recently, the teams raided the house of Wazia and apprehended her.
He said Wazia was married to Siddique Ur Rahman, an alleged Bangladeshi immigrant staying in the city since 1992 and running a Madarasa in the city. Siddique was not in the city since several days.
A police team had been sent to Mumbai to look for Siddique.
