This was decided at a meeting between Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and ruling Pakistan Muslim League president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain here yesterday.
Gen Musharraf, who is seeking re-election from the present National and Provincial Assemblies would launch his electoral campaign from Balochistan tomorrow, Daily Times reported.
Mr Hussain said the PML and its coalition parties were committed to ensure re-election of Gen Musharraf.
''The re-election of the President would ensure peace, progress and stability in Pakistan,'' he added.
Mr Aziz said the threat of resignations from the assemblies by some opposition parties reflected their ''hopelessness'' and asked them to avoid ''politics of confrontation''.
''Politics of confrontation was never supported by the people in the past and such elements will be rejected in the upcoming general elections as well,'' he said.
The Prime Minister said the re-election of Gen Musharraf would ensure continuity of policies essential for country's progress and prosperity. He asserted that ruling alliance has the required number of votes in the Assemblies.
Information Minister Muhammad Ali Durrani, Minister for Defence Production Habibullah Warraich and Minister of State for Information Chaudhry Tariq Azim also attended the meeting.
