Big Bazaar to touch a turnover 13,000 cr by 2010

Vijayawada, Sep 22: Retail major 'Big Bazaar has targeted to achieve a turnover of Rs 13,000 crore by 2010, a senior official has said.

Addressing the press here last evening after opening its new outlet, Regional Manager Silas Paud said the company achieved a turnover of Rs 4,000 crore in the last fiscal and aimed to touch Rs 6,500 crore in the current financial year.

With today's launch, the company had further enhanced its reach to the masses in the state.

Of the 68 Big Bazaar outlets in the country, five were in Andhra Pradesh, he said. The company's business in Andhra Pradesh would touch Rs 600 crore in the state by March 31 next with more outlets scheduled to be opened.

Pantaloon Retail (India) Limited South Zone Head Rohit Malhotra said Big Bazaar would bring value to customers with its 'unmatched offers and discounts.'
