Babri Masjid demolition case next hearing on Sep 25

Rae Bareli, Sep 19: The Special CBI court hearing the Babri Masjid demolition case today posted the case for the next hearing to September 25.

The hearing on the application filed by six people, including former MP Ram Vilas Vedanti for impleadment in the case, could not take place today due to the ongoing lawyers' strike.

Others include Mahant Dharmadas, Dr Satish Nagar, Baikunth Lal Sharma, Jagdish Muni and Champat Rai.

Earlier, defence counsel Mahipal Singh and Vimal Srivastava and CBI counsel K P Singh filed applications seeking exemption from personal appearance of parties.

Later, Chief Judicial Magistrate Vanshraj fixed September 25 for the next hearing.

In the previous hearings, the CBI had contended that since the six applicants were not named in the case either by the CBI or CB-CID, they could not be impleaded in the case.
