Swamy honoured for 'saving' Ram Setu bridge

Chennai, Sep 15: Janata Party President Dr Subramanian Swamy was today honoured by Kanchi mutt senior pontiff Jayendra Saraswati for his contribution to save the Ramsethu bridge from demolition as part of the Sethusamudram Shipping canal project. At the function organised at the mutt, the seer also performed poojas for the long life and good health of Dr Swamy on his birthday, according to a release here from the party office.

Dr Swamy was also invited to Gokarnath temple in Gorakhpur and Kasi Viswanath temple in Varanasi later this month, the release added.
