Shillong, Sep 14: The BJP today suggested that both Pakistan and Bangladesh launch joint military exercise with India to dismantle all existing terror camps inside their territories.

''This joint exercise is in the interest of peace, prosperity, humanity and to rescue the world from terror attacks,'' BJP national President Rajnath Singh told reporters here.

He, however, made it clear that India should launch such exercises with the two nations only with their consent.

''We want cordial relations with all our neighbours, but not at the cost of allowing them to let their territory be used for terror attacks against India,'' Mr Singh said.

Urging the world community to put pressure on Islamabad and Dhaka to dismantle the existing terror hideouts inside their territories, Mr Singh accused both countries of violating the UN Security Council 1373 resolution that prevents and suppresses the financing of terrorism, as well as criminalising the wilful provision or collection of funds for such acts.

''Pakistan and Bangladesh are the main sources of trouble in North East and India,'' he alleged, adding ''both countries are not only sheltering terrorists but also funding terror activities against India and the world.'' Moreover, the BJP president said, Bangladesh was now becoming a hub of international Islamic fundamentalism. ''Most of the terror attacks in India and other countries had been linked with Bangladesh,'' Mr Singh noted.
