Al Batterjee Group will foray in Indian IT sectors

Bangalore, Sep 11 : Saudi Arabia-based Al Batterjee Group, having an annual turnover of over USD 200 million, will foray into India by setting up a manufacturing facility and enter the Information Technology and Hospitality sectors.

In a press release here today, Group Vice-Chairman Sheikh Mazen Mohammed Batterjee, said since the company was focusing India, as a major outlet for their healthcare products, it decided to set up a manufacturing facility.

He said the Group was interested in making investment of over USD 100 million in both IT and Hospitality sectors. The group, initially plans to introduce its Nunu range of baby care products that includes baby shampoo, powder, soap, lotions, oil, he said adding the company estimates to reach a sales turnover of over Rs 20 crore from baby care products during the first year of its operations in India.

Mr Batterjee said the Group has also signed a MoU with Lloyd Steel India, for manufacture of various steel products and another MoU with Mumbai-based Unitech Group for logistics operations in Saudi Arabia. The project was expected to have an investment of over USD 50 million, the release added.
