Channel
Project
in
Rameshwaram
in
Tamil
Nadu
as
it
will
destroy
the
mythical
Ram
Sethu.
Taking up the issue during Zero Hour, BJP leader Sushma Swaraj said that the Sethusamudaram project which will connect the two coasts of the country if build on the current plan will destroy the Ram Sethu which was believed to be build by Lord Rama and his monkey army to cross over to Sri Lanka.
''The bridge is part of our tradition,'' Ms Swaraj said.
The BJP leader said that if the course of the metro rail in Delhi could be altered due to the trees on the course why not the Sethusamudaram project.
Shipping Minister T R Baalu intervened and said that the project has been approved by the NDA government and its blue print was also made by the previous government and it will be executed on course.
