Three-day Open House exhibition begins
Tirupati, Aug 24: A three-day Open House exhibition organised by Sri Venkateswara University (SVU) was inaugurated by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board Chairman B Karunakara Reddy at Srinivasa Auditorium on the varsity campus here today.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Reddy said the exhibition would be useful for the development of students and the TTD had increased its aid to SVU from Rs 15 lakh to Rs one crore. TTD would extend its support to the Varsity, if needed, he added.
Varsity Vice Chancellor S Jayarama Reddy said the exhibition was reflecting the rapid strides made by the varsity on academic and research fronts.
The exhibition displayed on DNA fingerprinting, nano-technology and cancer biology by bio-chemistry department, while the Viorology department had displayed models on HIV, Chikunguniya and rabies virus.
Ancient, medieval and modern India, national movement, Gandhiji life history and national leaders were displayed by department of History, apart from display on models of gold and new seven wonders and current issues like global warming and climate change, Dr ayarama added.
