374 pilgrims leave for Amarnath

New Delhi, Aug 19: A fresh batch of 374 pilgrims today left for Pahalgam and Baltal base camps, from where they would move towards the holy cave shrine of Amarnath in south Kashmir, official sources said.

The batch, comprising 102 men, 35 women and 193 sadhus, departed at 0505 hrs in a fleet of seven vehicles, including eight buses admist tight security from here, sources said.

With today's convoy, the 44th this year, a total of 56,465 pilgrims had left for the holy shrine from the Jammu base camp since July, sources added.
