Post offices in TN to receive Hutch payments

Chennai, July 26: Hutch, one of India's leading telecom service providers, today announced its tie-up with the postal department in Tamil Nadu to enable its customers to conveniently pay their bills at designated post offices in the state.

This tie-up was applicable to 131 designated post offices in the state, including 36 in Chennai.

This service was specially targeted at customers who prefer to make payments in cash.

Talking to newspersons here, Hutch Director of Operations Kumar Ramanathan said "with our rapidly increasing network coverage in Tamil Nadu, we have been exploring newer and innovative options to make bill payment a simple and convenient process for our customers".

"This tie-up will lead to increased accessibility to our customers across locations where these designated post offices are present," he added.

He said, "The post office payment mechanism is an addition to the already existing numerous convenient payment options, including Hutch Shops, tele-shops, self-service kiosks, drop boxes and mobile shops, amongst others."

To locate a designated post office at a location nearest to them, Hutch customers need to SMS 'PO ' to 111.

Customers would then receive a list of post offices nearest to the PIN code location, he said.
