Hyderabad, July 18: The Special Investigation Cell (SIC), probing the May 18 Mecca Masjid bomb blasts, has confirmed that two Pakistani and a Bangladeshi terrorists, experts in preparing Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), were involved in the blast that killed nine people on the spot.

According to sources here, SIC police got vital clues in the blast after it arrested ISI courier Abdul Karim Quadri on July 15 in the city.

During interrogation, Quadri revealed that he had provided shelter to three terrorists, who arrived in the city in the last week of April. The trio prepared the IEDs here with explosive material brought from Bangladesh in the first week of May.

The three terrorists had reached Hyderabad via Aurangabad with the assistance of Shaik Nayeem, alias Sameer, arrested by the Border Security Force (BSF) in April and brought to the city by SIC police in June to probe his involvement in the blasts, the sources said.

The alleged mastermind in the blast Shahed, alias Bilal, had sent the trio to Hyderabad to blast the holy place, the sources added.
