Manipur: Hardcore militants nabbed, youth shot dead

Imphal, July 7: In separate incidents in the city, a teeanger was shot dead, while Assam Rifles nabbed two militants of separate outfits last night.

Another youth was also shot in the leg yesterday in a similar insurgency-related incident.

Police today said a teenager was found shot dead last night. The body of the unidentified youth was kept at the morgue of Regional Institute of Medical Sciences for identification and post mortem.

Police further said investigations were on to ascertain the motive behind the killing and identify the killers.

Meanwhile, the youth who was shot at his leg last night midnight at Langthabal here by unknown armed persons. He was out of danger, police said and undergoing treatment at RIMS.

In another incident, troops of 4 Assam Rifles arrested a cadre of people's Liberation Army(PLA) cadre from Lamshang here, the PRO said today.

Meanwhile, a cadre of United national Liberation Front(UNLF) was also nabbed by 24 Assam Rifles.
