Manmohan Singh condemns killing of FCI official
New Delhi, July 3: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today condemned the killing of Food Corporation of India Executive Director Phulchand Ram by the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) and conveyed his condolences to the bereaved family.
In a message to Ram's family, Dr Singh said he was greatly distressed to hear of the killing of the Officer who was kidnapped by militants in April.
Dr Singh described the killing as a "dastardly and shameful act" which had shocked the country.
He said it needed to be condemned in the strongest terms.
The Prime Minister said the country was with the family members in their moment of grief.
