Task force to strengthen India's nuclear position
New Delhi, June 11: The Government has set up a three-member task force to ensure negotiators adopt a uniform position on non-proliferation, missile defence and fissile materials and other nuclear issues.
Headed by security expert K Subrahmanyam, the task force will also have Shyam Saran, Prime Minister's special envoy on the Indo-US nuclear deal, and Arundhati Ghose, former ambassador to the UN Conference on Disarmament, sources said today.
It will work in close consultation with the External Affairs Ministry, and will submit its recommendations to Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon.
