Raj: Meena MLAs to resign if Gujjars get STs status
Jaipur, June 2: Over 17 BJP MLAs from the Meena community, including two members of the Rajasthan Council of Ministers threatened to resign if the state government opted to make changes in the list of Scheduled Tribes.
These MLAs, including Food and Civil Supplies Minister Kirorilal Meena and Minister of State for Finance Virendra Meena, met Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje at her official residence and asked her not to make any inclusion or amendment in the list of Scheduled Tribes.
These BJP legislators have also urged the CM to take stern action against the protesting Gujjars who, they said, have been disrupting law and order in the state for the past four days.
Meanwhile, the much-awaited fourth round of dialogue between the group of ministers and the agitating Gujjar community leaders began here late tonight.
