Kohima, May 18: A Public Interest Litigation hearing against 2001 census filed by Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) at Kohima Bench of Guwahati High Court has been adjourned till May 29.

Official sources today said the hearing, scheduled for yesterday, was deferred following an intervention application filed by the Joint Action Committee on Delimitation, formed by the four affected districts of Wokha, Peren, Kiphire and Longleng along with Tseminyu sub-division of Kohima district.

Earlier, the final hearing was slated for May 3.

Sources said the Nagaland government was not ready to accept the Census of 2001 alleging that there were lot of anomalies.

They further said the state is now waiting for the decision of the court which would affect the implementation of the Delimitation Act in the state.
