Coop banks fix Rs 2023 crore loan target

Bhopal, May 14: The cooperative banks in Madhya Pradesh have finalised a target to disburse loan of Rs 2023 crore to the farmers for the Kharif crop this year.

The loan for 2007, about Rs 323 crore more than last year, comprises Rs 1496 crore in cash and Rs 527 crore in kind.

Cooperative Minister Gopal Bhargava has directed all district cooperative banks to finalise institution-wise action plan and to disburse loan to farmers in time. Along with chemical fertilisers, arrangements should also be made for seeds, pesticides and agricultural implements, he said.

The loan targets for different districts include: Khargone- Rs 304 crore, Mandsaur- Rs 146 crore, Khandwa-Rs 137 crore, Shajapur- Rs 125 crore, Bhopal- Rs 20 crore and Datia Rs six crore.
