Court work crippled in parts of MP
Indore, Mar 3 (UNI) Court work was crippled at Ujjain, Dewas, Mandsaur and the Military Headquarters Of War (MHOW) today as lawyers went on strike in protest against yesterday's clash with the police in the wake of action against an advocate.
''The strike followed an emergency meeting in protest against police excesses and in support of a demand for action against the personnel,'' said Indore Abhibhashak Sangh Chairman Amolak Singh.
Advocate Venudhar Parida was apprehended yesterday.
During the clash, District and Sessions Judge I S Shrivastav's intervention brought the police under control.
''The police assaulted Mr Parida and treated him as if he was a ruffian. The lawyer was released on bail today,'' alleged Mr Singh.
