2 held in connection with Sukhanand Shetty murder

Mangalore, Dec 30: Police have succeeded in nabbing Rafique and his wife Johara, the main accused in the murder of BJP leader from Mulky Sukhanand Shetty on December One here.

The two accused were arrested in Chennai last night by a special team of police headed by Inspector Venkateshprasanna. Rafique was also accused in the murder of Polali Ananthu who was murdered on June Seven 2005.

With this arrest, the police have so far arrested 12 people including Sudhir who was shot dead while trying to escape while he was being brought here from Sringeri recently.

Police said that Rafique, who was arrested a few year back in connection with a double murder case, was however acquitted by the country.

It was alleged that some people had given 'supari' through Johara for killing Mr Shetty.
