Prabunath Singh resigns from Lok Sabha
New Delhi, Aug 24: JD(U) MP Prabunath Singh today handed over his resignation to Speaker Somnath Chatterjee in protest against the unbecoming incidents that had been witnessed in the House.
Before announcing his resignation, Mr Singh said from what had happened in the House, it seemed that he was not fit for this House and immediately left his seat to hand over his resignation to the Speaker, with an appeal that it be accepted.
Mr Singh maintained that he had not said anything unparliamentary in the House against any member. ''The records may be checked and if I am wrong, action should be taken against me.'' The Speaker however assured the House that the JD(U) member would come back.
