Sensex slips 251 points in intra-noon trading
Mumbai June 7: Sensex tody slipped 251 points to 9,706.5 points after poor perfomance of the Asian markets lead by Nikkei, Kospi, Hangseng and Taiwan straits, after the stocks in the US market declined.
All the indices on the BSE sensex were in red. Midcap was down by 5.46 per cent. Smallcap was down by 5.69 per cent. Public Sector Units (PSU) was down by 4.84 per cent. Metals were down by 5.34 per cent, Oil and Gas by 3.13 per cent and auto indices was down by 3.77 per cent.
The only script which gained on the index was HDFC, up by 0.46 per cent to rupees 1,169.00.
Besides the losers were Ranbaxy, L&T, Reliance Energy, State Bank of India (SBI), National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC), Hindalco, ONGC, Tata Motors, Tata Steeland Grasim Industries all round by 3-10 per cent.
