PM's Arunachal visit rescheduled on June 13

Itanagar, Jun 4: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's will visit Arunachal Pradesh, on June 13 instead of June 10.

Stating this at a meeting, yesterday, Chief Minister Gegong Apang stated that the Prime Minister would inaugurate the Lohit Bridge at Brahmakund near Wakro in Lohit district and hold meetings with various parties in the state capital on the first day of his two-day visit, informed official sources here today. Mr Apang has proposed Prime Minister's visit to Yingkiong, the headquarters of Upper Siang district the next day, sources informed. '' Let him see the interiors, especially the border areas. Let him have bird's eye views of the economic development. Here, I have requested him to lay the foundation stone for the Gandhi Bridge, the life line of the region,'' the Chief Minister said.

Mr Apang further informed that he had also requested the Prime Minister to lay foundation stone for the road cleared by the Special Committee for Special Road Development Programe for strategic area.

He said seven strategic roads of the state have been identified, approved and funds have been earmarked by the cabinet committee on economic affairs of the union government. Long awaited fund for Gandhi Bridge had been sanctioned and released, the chief minister added.
