Quota issue: Students in K'taka take out a rally
Bangalore, May 14: Students in large number today took out a rally to protest against the Centre's proposed Reservation policy in the city today.
The rally began from Sajjanrao circle with about 300 students taking part in it. The proposed policy allows reservation to the students of OBCs in the government educational institutions.
Police detained five students during the rally following the inconvenience in the movement of traffic. Tension prevailed for a while after the detaining of five students.
The representatives of the students later submitted a memorandum to Governor T N Cheturvedi.
The detained students were later released, police said.
