Srinagar, May 10: Dukhtaran-e-Millat (Daughters of Faith) Chief Asiya Andrabi today demanded a high-level judicial probe into the recently-surfaced sex scandal, claiming that the people of the Kashmir valley have no faith in the CBI and the police.

''The case should be handed over to a full division bench of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court. We have no faith in the CBI and the police. The CBI has no access to the Kashmiri women,'' she told a news conference here.

Ms Andrabi broke down in tears several times during her nearly one-hour news conference.

She alleged that the CBI would indulge in delaying tactics besides manipulate and tamper with the evidence.

''The seriousness and gravity of the case should be understood.

Every minute is vital. The people are delaying the investigations to tamper with the evidence,'' she added.

Ms Andrabi said once the full bench takes up the case, it should appoint a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the matter.

''Our daughters are being sexploited...used in pornographic films and CDs. There is a clear attempt to defame the Kashmiri women who are faced with growing insecurity. Our chastity and honour is at stake,'' she said as tears rolled down her cheeks.

Ms Andrabi alleged that attempts were being made to hush up the sex racket scandal which has rocked the Kashmir valley. ''It was Justice Bashir Ahmed Kirmani who took suo motu cognisance of the case on May one. The case was later handed over to another judge (Justice Hakim Imtiyaz). There have been no proceedings in the case as ten days have passed by. The Bar Association had also filed a PIL in this regard,'' she said.

''The High Court judges are divided. There is something fishy going on. The Bar has gone on strike now,'' Ms Andrabi alleged.

She demanded official disclosure of the names of those involved in the sex racket.

''We have the names. We all know who are involved in the scandal.

We want aresult-oriented and a high-level judicial probe into the matter so that the culprits are brought to book. I don't want publicity...My skin is being touched,'' Ms Andrabi added.

She claimed that another pornographic MMS had surfaced last night and a photostat list of girls was being circulated in an attempt to exploit and defame the Kashmiri women.

Ms Andrabi also blamed the ''government agencies'' and those involved in the sex racket for threatening the cable operators and beauty parlours in the Kashmir valley.

''No militant outfit has issued any threats to the cable operators or the beauty parlours. They should not lend ears to such threats. It is an attempt to divert the attention of the people from this vital issue,'' she added.

The Dukhtaran-e-Millat Chief appealed to the people to join hands in exposing those behind such ''immoral acts''.
