Brazilian plane carrying 19 disappears from Macae
Rio De Janeiro (Brazil), Apr 1: An airplane carrying 19 people enroute to Rio de Janeiro went missing from the nearby city of Macae, aviation authorities said.
The plane, an LET 410 with 17 passenger and two crew members, belongs to the airline Team. It took off yesterday from Macae, the base for offshore oil operations in Rio de Janeiro state, at 0149 hr ist. It was due to arrive at 0232 hrs ist.
(2102 GMT) at Rio de Janeiro's Santos Dumont airport, the aviation authority Infraero said.
Officials later told the TV station TV Globo around 11:30 search operations had been suspended.
