Akola doctor arrested for cheating
Akola, Maharashtra, Feb 26 (UNI) A local young doctor has been arrested for allegedly cheating several job seekers by through an employment guidance and medical trainning centre.
Sudhir Pawde, who had set up Vaidyakiya Shikshan Vikas Mandal, was arrested yesterday after two duped persons - Gopalkrishna Kawarkar (60) and Raiji Sharad Wamanrao lodged a FIR, the police said.
The 30-year-old ayurvedic doctor had been placing advertisements in newspapers to lure the job seekers for providing unrecognised degrees and certificates of professional courses like DEd BEd JBT and PTC, police said.
However, investigations revealed that the State Govt had closed the PTC course in 1968 whereas JBT course was not into existence, police added.
Duped Wanarao had paid Rs 12,000 for correspondence course in DED, police said.
