Kerala: Police arrests youth, aide for shooting nude video of ex-lover

Thiruvananthapuram, April 15: Kerala police have arrested two persons in Thiruvananthapuram in connection with shooting a nude video of a girl and threatening her in order to scuttle her marriage plans.

The arrested persons are identified as Thomas Koshy alias John (26), a resident of Vazhottukonam near Vattiyoorkavu and Suji (26) of Parassala.

According to the police, Koshy with the help of his ex-lover's roommate Suji had captured nude visuals of the victim. It has been understood that the visuals were taken while the girl was taking bath.

Meanwhile, Thomas Koshi showed the visuals to the woman's fiance. Her fiance, then urged the woman to lodge a complaint. This ultimately led to the arrest of the duo.

The police also informed that Koshy was an accused in many vehicle theft cases.

"The two accused and the victim were close friends and she initially wanted to marry Koshy as she was unaware of his past," Cantonment assistant commissioner V Suresh Kumar said.

After knowing the criminal history of Koshy, the victim, a lawyer at the district court ended the relationship.

Meanwhile, the accused grew close to the roommate and persuaded her to shoot the victim's visuals and hand them over to him, the officer said.

A police team led by Vattitoorkavu sub inspector Anoop R Chandran arrested both the accused on Tuesday, April 14.

Police said that the visuals were deleted and they are trying to retrieve it with the help of cyber cell.

Both the accused were produced before the court and remanded in judicial custody.
