Kerala police brutally assaults protestor waving black flag at Chandy
"The protestors were throwing rocks, not waving black flags."
In further embarrassment, the police were seen attacking an Opposition protestor who was waving a black flag at CM Oommen Chandy. CNN IBN reported that a policeman allegedly repeatedly assaulted the protestor's private parts even as his other colleagues held him tight. The images have sparked outrage with even the Congressmen slamming the police action.
Kerala Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has alleged that the protestors were not protesting peacefully and were throwing rocks and rotten eggs. "The protestors were throwing rocks, not waving black flags. The CM and Agriculture Minister were attacked by rotten eggs," Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan said.
The injured man collapsed on the spot and was moved to a hospital. Meanwhile, Left MP KB Rajesh has moved the National Human Rights Commission against the police attack.
Reports, however, say that the incident is not related to the solar panel scam.
