Thiruvananthapuram, Dec 18: With BJP consistently failing to make an electoral breakthrough in Kerala, the party's national president Amit Shah will be in the state for two days from Friday to gear up the organisation for future challenges.

According to party sources, Shah will be meeting the state leaders and office-bearers at Palakkad tomorrow, focussing on the strategies to be adopted for the civic elections next year and the Assembly polls in early 2016.

Shah, coming to the state dominated by coalitions led by Congress and CPI(M) for the second time after the Narendra Modi government assumed power at the Centre, will address a public meeting at Palakkad tomorrow evening.

The next day, he will be in Kochi where he is expected to address the media before winding up the tour. Though the saffron party has failed to open its account in the state Assembly or Lok Sabha from Kerala, its vote share rose to 10.5 per cent in the last parliamentary polls without having any credible ally.

The thinking in the party is that assumption of power at the Centre under Modi's leadership has created an ambience for it to make a bid to break the jinx.

However, this required winning the confidence and goodwill of large sections of people, especially those disenchanted with UDF and LDF, which have been alternating in power for the last few decades, party sources said.

Shah visited Thiruvanathapuram in June last and addressed a convention of party workers from across the state.
