J&K poll: Roughed up by security officials, journalists boycott Omar's rally

Srinagar, Dec 1: Journalists on Sunday boycotted Jammu and Kashmir's chief minister Omar Abdullah's rally after there was a tiff reported between the media personnel and the security guards.

Abdullah was supposed to address a rally in Mendhar, in Poonch district ahead of the assembly elections in the state. However journalists, who arrived at the venue were allegedly manhandled by the security officials.

Journalists boycott Omar's rally

Security officials also asked the journalists to go out and were asked to do a coverage of the rally from outside.

Following this all the media personnel decide to boycott the event and even staged a dharna against the behaviour of the security officials.
