J&K: Adamant Hurriyat release fresh calendar of protests

Srinagar, Sept 1: The Hurriyat Conference continues to remain adamant and has issued a fresh calendar for the week. The calendar has been issued even as an all party delegation headed by Union Home Minister, Rajnath Singh is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir on September 4.

On the day the all party delegation visits Jammu and Kashmir, Hurriyat has directed the people of the state to occupy Airport Road, Lal Chowk and the District Headquarters.

Hurriyat releases fresh calendar

"Occupy Srinagar Airport road, Lal Chowk and District Headquarters from 9:00 am to 6 pm; protest with flags, banners and placards with messages "We Want Freedom" and "Go India Go Back"; play Islamic and Azadi Taranas in Masjids throughout the day, especially along Srinagar Airport road," the calendar further states.

Occupy airport road

The fresh calendar has programmes on two days at the airport road. Security agencies say that this calendar that has been issued is directed against the all party delegation that plans on visiting the state on September 4.

The calendar of events for the 3rd and 4th of September are identical. Protestors have been directed to focus all their energy on the airport road. In addition to this, Hurriyat also plans on holding protests in different parts of the state.

The protest calendar starting September 2 and ending September 8 also plans Azadi marches and also an Azadi convention.

While directing the people to post this calendar outside every Masjid, Hurriyat has also planned a graffiti day. During this day the protestors have been asked to paint all roads, lanes, walls, post and polls, with resistance slogans.
