J& K polls: Raj Babbar appeals people to vote for Congress

Srinagar, Dec 7: Ahead of the third phase of polling in Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday, Dec 9, Congress leader and Bollywood actor Raj Babbar on Sunday, Dec 7 addressed a public rally at Chak Salarian in Vijay Pur constituency of district Samba.

Former MP and party spokesperson Raj Babbar told people to vote for Congress candidate S Manjit Singh from the Vijay Pur constituency.


Addressing the gathering, Raj Babbar appealed people to vote and support Congress party.

He also lashed out at the programmes and policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"During these seven months of tenure of PM Narendera Modi, border areas have been fully disturbed", Babbar said.

Last month, the actor-turned-politician had campaigned in Bandipora and had said that the Congress was the only party that can take on the BJP and asked people to vote for the party for unity and brotherhood in the country. [Read: What Raj Babbar said in Bandipora]

The sixteen Assembly constituencies spread over three districts -- Budgam, Pulwama and Baramulla -- will go to polls on Tuesday when 13.69 lakh electors, including 6.51 lakh women, will decide the fate of 144 candidates among whom are the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, three of his cabinet colleagues and 10 other sitting MLAs.
