J&K Polls: NC steps campaign in Darhal constituency; seeks vote for development

Rajouri, Dec 7: Stepping up campaign for the National Conference candidate Choudhry Liaqat Ali, Senior Vice President Mr Rattan Lal Gupta on Sunday predicted big defeat for communal and anti-people forces, saying hate politics has no place in Jammu and Kashmir.

Addressing election meetings at several places across the constituency, Gupta termed the ongoing democratic process as a decisive battle between communal and secular forces, saying the latter will ultimately triumph with massive mass support.

He referred to the dubious machinations being employed by BJP and PDP to remain relevant in the elections and said the opportunistic politics will not succeed in breaking the will of the people who have decided to give a befitting reply to those playing with their sentiments.

Gupta exhorted the politically sagacious voters to support Choudhry Liaqat Ali, saying this will be endorsement of the policies and programmes of National Conference that has steered the state to peace, progress and tranquility.

Making a fervent appeal to people to foil the machinations of anti-peace forces, Gupta said communal politics has no place in a state that has been abode of the people belonging to different faiths, who have been living in harmony".

He said reactionary forces have always got a befitting reply and they have never succeeded in breaking the will of people for maintaining peace and tranquility.

Addressing these meetings, Ch Liaqat said his main emphasis would be to ensure development of Darhal constituency on fast track basis and ensuring various welfare programmes designed for upliftment of the people belonging to weaker sections and far off places.

He said development will get a big push under the Omar led government during the next six years and exhorted people to support his forward looking policies.

On this occasion, several workers of Congress and PDP joined National Conference, who included Shabir Ahmed Sarpanch , Hussian Bhat, Taj Mohd Rather , Mohd Shafi Mughal , Ch. Aslam Gani and Ch. Nazir.
