J&K polls: Health Minister denies news about arrest
Srinagar, Dec 9: The Public Relations Officer of Minister of Health and Medical Education has strongly refuted the contents of a newspaper report regarding his "arrest".
In a statement issued on Tuesday, the PRO described the news report as fare moved from truth and a result of distortion of facts.
Giving details, the PRO said that he was returning back from Limber, Uri, after attending a social get-together there when he was intercepted by a group of miscreants at around 4.30 p.m. who, he apprehended where to cause physical harm to him.
Fearing for my safety, I called up a local SHO and requested for Police protection along my way, the PRO said. On the arrival of the Police officials on the spot, according to the PRIO, the miscreants leveled a false charge of money distribution against him.
The PRO said he himself immediately offered for search of himself and his vehicle which was done by Police in presence of a Duty Magistrate and general public but nothing incriminate was found and he proceeded to home safely alongwith Police protection after the miscreants were chased away by the Police.
