Srinagar, Dec 19: In a joint statement issued here, President J&K National Conference Farooq Abdullah, Working President and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Senior Leader Sheikh Nazir paid glorious tributes to late freedom fighter Mujahid Sadr-din Buch on his death anniversary.
Remembering Buch, the leaders said that he played an important role in the freedom struggle of Kashmir with late Sher-i-Kashmir Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah by remaining steadfast with him and dedicated his life for the cause.
"He played a vital role in Quit Kashmir movement and plebiscite front and he was jailed several times by the autocratic rulers of Kashmir. He sacrificed and sacrificed a lot for the common cause of Kashmiris," leaders said.
A remembrance meeting was also held at party headquarter Nawa-i-Subhu under the chairmanship of Party General Secretary Ali Mohammad Sagar who described him as a great leader who sacrificed his yesterday for our better tomorrow.
On the occasion Fateh Khawani was also held in the remembrance of the late Buch. Other party functionaries also attended the meeting who apart from paying tributes to Buch also condemned the barbaric incident of Peshawar carnage in which 140 people mostly school going children were slaughtered.
Sagar said the whole Kashmir is in mourning and are part of grief of the people of Pakistan.
