Manchester, Aug 3: Manchester United's star striker Zlatan Ibtahimovic suggests that club captain and star striker Wayne Rooney is a 'perfect' partner for him in the up fornt. [EPL full schedule for the month of August]
Zlatan Ibrahimovic completed a move to Old Trafford last month after his contract got over with Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-germain.
The veteran Swedish striker made his debut for the the club last week against Turkish giants Galatasaray where he scored his maiden goal within 3 minutes of game.
Manchester United eventually won 5-2, with Rooney scoring 2 goals, Marouanne Fellaini 1 and Juan Mata 1.
Speaking to MUFC TV, Zlatan hailed Rooney as one of the best strikers and explained how the Englishman would be a 'perfect' partner for him in the club strikeforce.
He said: "I think every big player can work with other big players.
"That's not a problem. We are 11 players not two players on the pitch. It's up to the coach what he wants but, with him, I see no problems. Only success.
"I said many years ago the perfect partner for a striker is Wayne Rooney. He works not only for himself but for the striker and the whole team. I'm absolutely happy to be one of the guys beside him."
Zlatan is generally known for his tempers and arrogance and how he cannot adjust with big names. Previously he had problems playing under Pep Guardiola at a star studded FC Barcelona side.
During his stint with PSG, media reports had suggested that there was a ego clas between Uruguayan international Edinson Cavani and himself.
Since the striker's arrival at Manchester United, the main topic of speculation was how he would adjust with the club's main star player Rooney who is also a striker.
But putting all rumours and speculations to rest, Ibrahimovic has clarified his relation with the captain.
