Zinedine Zidane expresses his will to coach France national team

By Ians English

Paris, March 31: France soccer legend Zinedine Zidane again expressed his will of managing the national team in the future, said a media report on Tuesday

The 42-year-old, who won the World Cup in 1998 and European Championship in 2000 with Les Bleus during his player career, is currently coaching Real Madrid's reserve team Castilla, reported Xinhua.

While being the guest of the "Canal Football Club" on Canal+, the former playmaker took the opportunity to reiterate that he would like to manage Farnce "someday".

"I will say it clearly," he said. "My objective and my ambition is to be the coach of the French national team."

"When? Someday. I have time ahead," added Zidane, who won 108 caps for France between 1994 and 2006.

It has been suggested in Spain that Madrid are grooming the Frenchman to succeed current boss Carlo Ancelotti, and Zidane answered: "Of course. But now there is a great coach. I learn a lot alongside Carlo."

Asked about the possibility of replacing Laurent Blanc in Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain, Zidane didnot close any door.

"Right now they have Laurent Blanc," he said. "I'm from Marseille, and I am in Madrid now. I do not refuse any possiblities, but it will be complicated to me."

Didier Deschamps, who just renewed his contract to 2018 with the French football association earlier last month, responded with a smile.

"I do not know what he will do after being so busy coaching Castilla," he said. "But, yes, he has all the qualities to coach Les Bleus."
