Bengaluru, July 9: Four-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion Alberto Del Rio today (July 9) wielded the willow and bowled in a friendly cricket game.
The 39-year-old Mexican was in the city on Saturday as part of a special 3-day visit to India. He spent his time in Bengaluru meeting and interacting with his local fans.
While in the city, Alberto met and interacted with his local fans at Garuda Mall and also launched WWE 2K17 game last evening (July 8). The air was full of energy with WWE fans creating an uproar as Alberto walked into the mall.
Earlier on Saturday, the WWE Superstar met with the Special Olympics Bharat team. He played a friendly game of cricket with the kids from Special Olympics getting Alberto to bat and ball with them. Also present was the Regional Director for Special Olympics Bharat, Vasanth Kumar Shetty.
Talking about his time here in India, Alberto said, "India has been great so far and I'm overwhelmed with all the love I have received from my fans here. I had a really nice time in Bengaluru meeting my local fans. Meeting the Special Olympics Bharat kids was a very a humbling and inspiring experience. My time in India has indeed been very special and I will go back with a lot of memories."
Yesterday (July 8), in Kolkata, Alberto said that he is supporting Portugal in the Euro 2016 football final because of Cristiano Ronaldo. Portugal will face France on July 11 (12.30 AM IST) in the title clash.
"I was supporting Spain but unfortunately they did not do too well in this tournament. Now that they are out of the competition I am supporting Portugal for Ronaldo. I am a big supporter of Real Madrid and he is our most important player, so I am rooting for Portugal," Alberto told IANS in an interview.
