Bengaluru, Dec 13: The ongoing rivalry between AJ Styles and Dean Ambrose is said to be over with the show-stealer match at WWE TLC.
This was a hard-core battle between the two main eventers for the WWE World championship which left AJ Styles bruised to get sidelined for a while.
Styles' leg injury forced him not to defend his title against Ellsworth this past week on Smackdown Live.
On the other hand, Dean Ambrose was robbed by James Ellsworth in the title match. Last week, he was able to seek some redemption by hitting Ellsworth with the Dirty Deeds during the opening segment.
But, the “turtle without a shell" cost Ambrose the Intercontinental title, again in the main event. He interrupted the IC title match distracting the referee which allowed The Miz to connect with the Skull crushing finale to pick up the win.
Ziggler is out of the picture after losing his match at TLC and so the Miz also needs a fresh opponent.
On the other hand, the source also reported that main event picture will feature AJ Styles and John Cena. The franchise will be back to seek his redemption against Styles.
He is still to pick up a singles victory over the Phenomenal One whereas Styles is 2-0 against Cena. From a storyline perspective, Cena will be hunting his 16th WWE World title to tie Ric Flair's record.
This will allow starting a feud with Shane McMahon just like the Miz vs. Daniel Bryan unfolded on the blue brand.
The teaser of the feud was given by WWE after Survivor Series PPV when Shane was frustrated by Dean and asked him to leave the building.
