Bengaluru, Oct 17: We have passed by another successful PPV No Mercy, this past October 9th. As reported earlier, John Cena was expected to take hiatus aftermath and he did not show up on Smackdown.
The franchise of the company was seemingly very upset after he ended up losing the big title match at the PPV.
He was on the verge to tie Ric Flair's record 16th WWE World title reign. But, despite losing the bout, Cena made an all-time record at No Mercy and it was admitted by WWE, itself.
John Cena is now officially the WWE superstar to claim the most number of main events in his career. He was holding the tie for a number of months with Triple H and the Undertaker with 67 main event matches (including Royal Rumble matches). At No Mercy, he has surpassed them both with number 68.
John Cena will not be seen in any upcoming Smackdown episodes since he is busy filming the second season of American Grit on Fox television.
Another superstar who is on a hiatus due to an injury is Finn Balor. At Summerslam, the Demon King was injured at the hands of Seth Rollins when he tore his shoulder rotator cuff.
The latest updates regarding him suggest that he is doing very well in his rehab sessions at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida. If he continues to progress like this he will make his return in time for Wrestlemania season.
