WWE: Update on Big Show, Shaquille O’Neil's cancelled match at Wrestlemania

Shaquille O’Neil commented on social media saying that the match is probably off for this year and he does not even know the reason behind it.

Bengaluru, Mar 16: Big Show is in the best shape of his entire life, right now. During ESPYs Awards 2016, he challenged NBA veteran Shaquille O'Neil into a match at Wrestlemania 33 which was accepted.

Ever since then, the WWE Universe is gearing up for the clash of these two goliaths at the Citrus Bowl in Orlando, Florida.

But, to the much disgust of the fans, the match has been canceled due to lack of planning. WWE has not started the build of the match, at all despite all wanting the match to happen. Big Show was announced for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at Wrestlemania, further.

Recently, Shaq commented in the social media saying that the match is probably off for this year and he does not even know the reason behind it.

The world's largest athlete is really frustrated with this situation because his goal of having one Wrestlemania moment might have shattered.

During an interview with SportingNews.com, Show revealed the time when his WWE contract gets expired that is in February 2018.

So, he might leave WWE and not get the chance of performing at the biggest stage of them all.

These were his comments:“It is a little frustrating because my contract ends in February 2018. So I don't know what's going to happen between now and then.

"I don't know if there will be an opportunity for me next year at WrestleMania or not. I don't know because there's a lot of new Superstars breaking out and I've done my time.

"This was my perhaps my last opportunity to have a featured match at WrestleMania. And I would have had a good time working with Shaq."

It is very much unfortunate for the world's largest athlete that the storyline ended in this way. He has been loyal to the company for over two decades and needs a proper send-off. WWE might arrange someone like Braun Strowman for him as an alternative choice.
